Editorial Policy

(1) Mandate. The Journal of Central American Art and Archaeology is published on an electronic, open-access digital platform (online).  We seek original papers in the form of articles or site reports that focus on pre-Columbian archaeology, art history, and/or ethnohistory of Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. We also encourage contributions that integrate relevant themes involving Mesoamerica, the Caribbean, and northern South America. Submissions are welcome in either English or Spanish.

 (2) Submission. The editors reserve the right to reject or call for the resubmission of any manuscript considered to be: (a) poorly composed and/or researched, (b) incompatible with the overarching goals of the journal, or (c) disproportionately long for an article or site report format. Manuscripts may also be returned to the author(s) for modification if deemed non-compliant with the journals' style guidelines.
